Mr. Werner Varro,

Mr. Werner Varro is currently the Technical Certifier, Product Safety System Expert, Team Leader and the Innovation and Product Development Manager with TÜV SÜD and he is based in Munich, Germany. Prior to joining TÜV SÜD, Mr. Varro has more than 10 years of working experience with Siemens AG, Munich and DANTEC invent GmbH, Erlangen. He was the Quality Manager at DANTEC and the Product Safety Manager at Siemens. Mr. Varro has deep knowledge in the analog and digital circuit design, electrical and electronic engineering, microcontroller and programmable electronics. He is instrumental in providing value-added technical advice on product liability, reliability and safety to international approvals and also responsible in testing and certify the products to be compliant to CE-Conformity, EMC-Directive, Machine Directive, Low Voltage Directive, R&TTE Directive, Pressure Vessel Directive, Pressure Equipment Directive, ATEX and NRTL before the products are being placed in the market.
He is also responsible in the safety of machinery robotics and laboratory equipment, SEMI, functional safety of electrical, electronic and programmable controls. Mr. Varro has equipped with the knowledge in the Quality Management System according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 17025.
Mr. Zeng Shengwu
Smart Grid, Strategic Business Development Manager

Mr. Zeng Shengwu is currently the Smart Grid, Strategic Business Development Manager of TÜV SÜD Greater China and he is based in Shanghai office. Prior to joining TÜV SÜD, Mr. Zeng is experienced as the Global Technical Expert with Schneider Electric. He is currently a member of IEC TC57 WG10 Chinese National Committee, IEC 61850 active member of Testing Subcommittee in UCA International Users Group and IEC 61850 and Cyber-Security Global Core Team.
During his time with AREVA T&D as an R&D Engineer, he was assigned as the co-author of product requirements and specification of the new IEC 61850 based IED product line, performed the IEC 61850 conformance testing and he was the IEC 61850 expert providing training and technical advisory across different departments in the R&D centre for power system protection and automation solutions. As a power industry consultant at UT Innovation in Netherlands, he has been involved in various international projects regarding IEC 61850 implementation, standardization and migration, for clients in Europe, US and Australia.
Mr. Jack Gao Yupeng
Functional Safety, Digital Service

Mr. Jack Gao has worked on different functional safety projects and roles in Mechanical and Electrical FMEDA and chaired the SCA/HAZOP workshops. He has more than 8 years of experience in C/C++ and Java programming language. He has worked on real time software development and firmware drivers for different industrial products including Allen Bradley’s Point/Flex IO modules.
Prior to joining TÜV SÜD, Mr. Jack Gao worked in Exida, managing and executing product certification projects and conducting training for Asia Pacific region for IEC 61508 standard. He has worked as an assessor and auditor to certify products including sensors and final elements. He also worked for Rockwell Automation Singapore where he was a senior engineer developing firmware with functional safety features in accordance to the SIL requirement. He has worked on different 1734 Point IO modules and 1794 Flex IO modules and different field buses such as Profibus, DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP etc. He has extensive experience encompassing software development, software debugging, system testing, configuration management, document management and process improvement.
Dr. Lin Wei
Chairman of Singapore Technical Committee for the Standards of Automation
Robotics and Precision Engineering
Dr. Lin Wei is currently the Senior Scientist with the Mechatronics Group in SIMTech. He has 25 years of experience working as a R&D researcher for developing advanced robotics technologies for dealing with challenging manufacturing processes. He is an Adjunct Associate Research Professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department of the National University of Singapore and a codirector of the SIMTech-NUS Joint Lab on Industrial Robotics.
Dr. Lin Wei has been a technical and project leader for more than 40 major industrial projects for the precision engineering, marine, aerospace, and electronics industries. These projects included automated wafer inspection system, non-destructive testing (NDT) systems for aircraft composites, automated palletizing system for high-mix items, high-precision hot-embossing system, and automated welding of large oil rig structures. He is the Initiative Lead of Complex Equipment in the Precision Engineering Centre of Innovation (PE COI), and the course leader of PE WSQ Graduate Diploma in Precision Mechatronics since 2011. Dr Lin is also the Chairman of Singapore Technical Committee for the Standards of Automation, Robotics and Precision Engineering since 2014.
Dr. Deng Junhong

Global EMC Director, TÜV SÜD Product Service
Dr. Deng Junhong is currently the Vice President, Electrical and Electronics Centre of TÜV SÜD PSB. He is also the Chairman of EMC Service Line Committee and the EMC Senior Product Specialist of TÜV SÜD Product Service. His expertise is mainly in EMC consultancy, EMC design, EMC testing, EMC certification, and laboratory management. Additionally, as a senior member of IEEE, he has been serving in IEEE EMC Singapore Chapter as an executive committee member since 2005 and holding the Chairman position in 2014 and 2015 and Vice Chairman in 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013. Dr. Deng has also been servicing in the IECEE CB scheme as a member of IECEE CTL EMC Expert Task Force since 2007.
Dr. Deng is an iNARTE certified EMC engineer, a member of Singapore National Working Group (WG) on IEC/TC 77 on EMC. Prior to joining TÜV SÜD PSB in 1998, Dr. Deng was a lecturer with East China Jiaotong University in 1987 to 1994 and a senior design engineer with Mitsubishi Electric in 1996-1998. Dr. Deng published around 30 research papers in EMC and power electronics, and gave numbers of paper presentations at international conferences. He also provided EMC consultancy to the industries, gave technical talks in various conferences and seminars on EMC regulations, EMC design, EMC testing techniques, EMC standards, etc. and served in the committees of a few international EMC conferences.
Dr. Deng holds a Bachelor degree and a Master degree of Engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University, majoring in Railway Electric Propulsion & Automation and graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Master degree of Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy in the area of EMC research.
